Discovering your passion isn’t easy, especially when you have a variety of interests. I’ve always thought finding your passion was easy for artists, singers, dancers, mathematicians, doctors, etc.--people in careers that require an obvious talent. But what about the vast majority of people. How do they find their passion?
I believe the search begins in your imagination. It requires that you listen to your inner voice, your hunches, your intuition. What do you daydream about? What gives you pleasure to think about? What tasks make you feel good after you’ve done them?
Intuition is an inner awareness and a sense of knowing what is outside the realm of logical thought. Yet it possesses a wonderful flowing logic all its own.
A powerful inner guide, intuition shows itself in the hunches you have. Intuition is the inspiration that leads you over and over in a particular direction or gives you added insight into a specific area or a creative breakthrough or magically gets you in the right place at the right time.
You must constantly ask yourself what you love to do the most, then listen to your intuition for an answer. “Your passion in life is about you, about your willingness to serve others while serving yourself,” writes Dr. Robert Anthony in his book Doing What You Love, Loving What You Do.
Bottom line: listen to yourself, your feelings, thoughts, intuition. Your passion is there--listen and find it!
